This is the official tips and tricks on the Resistance map and the Village map on Modern Warfare 3. I got this info from Playstation Magazine November 2011 I bought from a shop (not online so I didn't copy paste). I rewrote all of this.

The Resistance map is composed of tight streets with even tighter flanking routes through the cafes and lofts that populate the city. The long sight lines of the flanking routes make it an ideal map for an assault rifles, so utilize the Two Attachments weapon proficiency to equip the dual scope. This allows to have both a close-range holographic sight or for clearing rooms and a long-range magnified scope for covering the long streets with the same weapon.

However, your offensive strategy is only one-half of the equation to dominating on Resistance, with so many routes through the streets of Paris, getting flanked can be a problem without the proper situational awareness. This is where I utilize new equipment such as the Portable Radar, Throw it down near doorway(I prefer the main center route) and it will alert you to an enemy forces that are trying to flank you while you're moving up or covering the far left or far right streets.
