(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); FIRST: IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RATING OF THE GAME!!!

I've seen a lot of people talking about how they feel scammed because they were under 18 and couldn't redeem their codes. Well, here is THE reason for it. It has a lot to do with the compete section. This isn't the only part, but it plays a large role in how they had to approach it.

When you sign up for Elite, you enter into a legal binding contract. Everything from how you play, to where you live, to what prizes you can win, to what you can hold Activision and the developers responsible for. Because you must be 18+ to enter into a contract without a parent in the US, you can't enter into the Elite contract under the age of 18. Wait, you ask. "In my country you only have to be (insert legal age here) to enter into a contract." Well, with Activision being located in the US, you are entering under the laws and rules of the host country.

Hopefully this clears a bit up about why you have to be 18 to be eligible for it with my small law knowledge. If anyone has anything they'd like to add I'd appreciate it as well.

I'm pretty sure it won't stop anyone from using elite unless they didn't put 18+ age on their accounts. I'm only 16 and I always make sure I set my birthdate to 1990 no matter what I sign up on ^^

But a lot of people put they're under 18. And they were all upset around the interwebz about it. At least you're smart about it and it won't affect you lol i'm 20 so doesn't matter for me either.

well tbh the games for 18 and you have to be 18 to play online games so there not gonna make the elite 4 12year olds or 16yr olds you will need to meet the age requirements. Nice thread though
