- i don't have a HDPVR so this is why i want to achieve this

Yeah, where are the .demo files located? I'm sure my mate can convert them easily, since he is a computer pro, and I could get back to you guys how to do it

.demo is not a not a normal file type, it is used by a lot of games such as counter strike. It is what it says; its a demo. When you record a demo, you have to know the file's name. Like "demo0001.demo" or whatever.
Once you know the name you have to console on the game and enter "playdemo demo0001.demo" (In this example, of course).

SumUp: You need the game it was recorded from and the real name from when it was recorded to play it.

The Files are located in HDD memory on the XBOX under games>MW3 then it should all be there

I'm pretty sure that the .demo files just save the actions of what happened in the game. They aren't videos of the game.

So this is for XBOX and not the PS3? Or I'm guessing the files are saved but can only be extracted when data transferred to a 3.55?

Try finding a .demo to .avi converter. That should work for you.
