I believe it is a hosting error I thought it may of happened when I wasnt host but I doubt it now. I believe this game puts a massive strain on the hosting console as "out of memory 14" is I think referring to your PS3 being out of RAM.

If your unaware of what im talking about its when the game starts lagging, console freezes and returns you to the main menu saying "Out of memory 14" while hosting mw3. All of the party and the rest of the people connected to you will get "server connection timed out" and back to main menu.

One way of fixing this for yourself (but making it someone elses problem) is to ensure you are not the host.

You can do this 2 ways (if anyone knows better then me please contribute/correct me)

1. Limit bandwidth on your router with bandwidth management software/firmware on your router.

2. Disable port forwarding on your router thus giving you a 'moderate NAT type' in game.

3. Disable UpnP on your router (further screwing your nat type up)


Now I spend a lot of time ensuring my NAT type is open so i get local games with good connection etc but I have read people are getting local games anyway with strict NAT type. People in my party are able to game in lobbies with me as host when their NAT type is moderate or strict just get a friend to take you in.

***EASY FIX*** - Just turning off UpnP in Ps3 connection settings has completely removed this error for me

Good stuff, :y: ye very true UPnP is pointless on my ps3 i always disable it in advance network setting... Also setting up a DMZ on router connection to PS3 & or xbox360 (so it's not "protected" by your router/hub's internal firewall), + also like my BT home hub makes a static ip address

so basically the people who set up their connection to be optimzed are being punished?

Not punished just an error im hoping will be fixed. I have an optimised connection and I am having trouble where my friend who is connected via a wire a Dog chewed through and a pre historic router has none at all lol. Think it is a hosting error though as mine is going ok now.

I'm GETTING PIST OFF BY THIS SHIT. I AM ALWAYS HOST AND I LAG INSANELY HARD... **** my connection or **** the game?

Turning off recording does nothing that was my first thing i tried. IT IS because of hosting i had recording off and was getting it all the time today I disabled UpnP on my ps3 and i have played completely lag free, no errors for 5 hours straight.

Fix = Turn off Upnp therfore making it more likely others will be host

EDIT - well nothing is lag free in cod world but I have not had anything like the problems I had before i turned off Upnp AND NO "OUT OF MEMORY 14's" YAYAYAYAYAYA
