I tried them out on MW3 and I could here the backgrounds and stuff real loud but I can barely here the enemy footsteps which I really want to here, any suggestions or tips on how to set these up? Any help is appreciated!

I have one of those...use Sit REP Pro will make the diference...in B.OPS i can ear in 5.1 and Mw3 i dont! The new game with this bad sound...

I have AX720s. On the amp thing, press the button till there's 3 blue lights and 1 white light. That's the mode you should be on.

Then, go to Sound Settings and go to Optical Cable, and MAKE SURE YOU CHECK, the first box, and leave everything else the same. That way you're on 5.1 and not 2.1 sound.

And that's it. If you're having trouble hearing footsteps and stuff, don't worry, you just got to get used to all the sounds and stuff, give yourself a few days to a week and you'll learn how to soundwhore better and make out the sounds of footsteps, reloading, throwing knife sounds, etc. from everything else. Also use dead silence.
