At least 3 of those classes are "just because" classes.
You could easily change your killstreaks before switching game modes.
1. Rushing SMG class
2. Assaassin Blind Eye Anti air
3. Sniper
4. Shotgun
5. Assault Rifle
6. Assault with different Killstreaks
7. Smg with diff ks.
Two of the 7 I mentioned are optional. Unlock gear is much more valuable. Since what's the use of 10 classes if you have to wait half your prestige or more to put the perks, equpment, guns you want in them?

In this game custom classes are a lot more important then before. Here's an example of 10 custom classes
1. Rushing Class
2. Overwatch Class
3. Assault Rifle
4. Sniper Class
5. Riot Shield (for fun of course)
6. SnD perk set up
7. Rushing Class (w/ diff kill streak setup)
8. Assault Rifle (w/ diff kill streak setup)
I can throw two more in but I'm sure you get the point. You have to adjust to different game modes now. If you get in a game where everybody is throwing up UAV's and such, then you're going to want the support killstreaks or a ghost class with assassin and blind eye. There's so many options for classes in MW3 that I can see why 10 would be useful
I am considering using it on Unlock Gear though for assassin or the ACR
