Of course you are right, we don't know how to open/edit/decrypt/encrypt the PARAM.PFD ("PFDB", inside "param.pfd" there's an "extension" PFDB in the first line. *.PFDB is a file made by a program named Password Fortress) and also a guy or gal named RathHavoc released this (I know it's old news, but WTF, I just want to help):

"Well I have thought about releasing some info on the structure of the files for some time, but I have been real hesitant. But anyway, here is the info.
Gamesave Structure

Basically gamesaves define their own sub folder(s) based on a pattern.
A==> Media Format [B=Bluray], [S=DvD]
B==> C=First Party , L=Licensed
C ==> Country code [A=Asia], [E=Europe], [J=Japan], [U=US]
D ==> D = Demo, S= Game, M=(Not sure about this yet)
E ==> Unique 5 Digit game Start ID
F ==> Unique Game Creators (Define the remainder of the format)
The directory structure is obvious, and I'm sure everyone knows this. But without further ado.
Directory Structure
PARAM.SFO ==> Various information about the title. Never encrypted, but signed.
PARAM.PFD ==> Signatures of all the files if the save is protected. Signature method is unknown. (Hash-size 0x60)
ICON0.PNG==>PNG image
ICON1.PNG==>PNG image two.
SND0.AT3==>(optional)Sound file to be played.
ICON1.PAM==>(optional)Video file to be played.
PIC0.PNG==>(optional)Overlay picture.
PIC1.PNG==>(optional)Large background file.

PARAM.PFD Structure
This file is responsible for making sure the save games aren't tampered with. To prevent file modification of this file and other game files, the 'cryptographic' signatures are inside this file. But some games don't sign their files here though.
Structure
File size is 0x8000 bytes.
Offset| Size | Description | Value |
0x00 | 0x04 bytes | Nothing | All zeroes |
0x04 | 0x04 bytes | Magic value |'PFDB' in ASCII |
0x08 | 0x08 bytes | Unknown | 0x3 |
0x10 | 0x50 bytes | Public Key |Method unknown|
0x60 | 0x08 bytes | Unknown | 0x39 |
0x68 | 0x08 bytes | Unknown | 0x72 |
0x70 | 0x08 bytes |Number of files| = x |
That is basically the file structure for the PARAM.PFD. Hopefully you guys will have a better understanding of the gamesaves and files within. I'd add the remaining files to this thread, but they are a bit useless."
