I won't tell you ways get kills up rather avoidable deaths that can indirectly get you more kills. Some of you wil get this game for Christmas so let me help a few out.


I'm early 3rd prestige(Mad dbl xp) with 2.10 k/d, 1.80 w/l and 14.80 accuracy... Just stating my numbers which is more about how terrible people are. A 2 k/d in this game is like a 1.6 in others lol Before someone says k/d doesn't matter, let me say this: Obviously k/d shouldn't be so important that you camp or worse hide in corners scared to die nor should you beat your girlfriend after a bad game. However if you're a competitor it's nice to be able to hold your own and get a few big scores and help your team. I mostly play Ground War since it's more players, more action and the camping is realistic compared to HC or SND where people crawl all ****ing game.

1. STOP FALLING FOR AIRDROP TRAPS... It amazing how many prestiged players fall for this. If you've ever played MW2 or BO you know that if someone gets a care pkg their entire team is trying to steal it so why in the hell would they leave a "Osprey Gunner" laying around. If you're that desperate than use Sitrep. Also stop using that instead of Ballistic vest. Besides initial lulz why waste a killstreak on trying to fool the enemy? Moving on

2. PAY ATTENTION... Meaning use your minimap to your advantage. Chasing red dots from UAVs aren't the end all be all what I mean is use where your teammates are to know where enemies are. Listening to the hiss of a silencer than seeing your teammates arrow disappear or a death skull can tip you off that an enemy is nearby. If you hear Stealth Bombers(Noob Bombers) get to cover or switch to colorblind mode to see them.

3. STOP QUICK SCOPING IF YOU'RE TERRIBLE...i understand why people like to QS but if you're always going negative or barely breaking even maybe you should hardscope(get mad :carling: ) or avoid sniping all together. You're hurting your team as well. I'll never understand how people think 1 successful quick scope nullifies dying 6 times in a row while failing at quick scoping... Though I realize most quick scopers could care less about dying eapecially since Support actually rewards you regardless.

4. SWITCH IT UP... If you're playing vs a clan then maybe quick scoping, shotguns aren't going to get it done. If Type 95,ACR, LMG,M16 isn't working that game, try and SMG. If the map is bigger, try a Sniper or Assault Rifle or Marksman. I think using a Prestige Token for more than 2 extra slots is a waste however having different class setups with different perks and guns can help you.

5. SOME PLACES ARE DANGEROUS TO GO...There are pathways on maps you should generally avoid(ie hallway between A and C on Terminal in MW2, the doorway by the fountain on Havana from BO.) The airplane turrent on Bakara comes to mind. Obviously it's tempting to get on the gun but try to avoid it. Also on Fallen,avoid the route between the steps and the courtyard by B because there are usually guys camped up in those windows watching over. I'm not saying hide but there are some places you can't just rush throug like Rambo so pay more attention in these areas.

6. RESPAWN AFTER... If you hear enemy Stealth Bomber, Pred, Airstrike as you're dying, don't respond instantly and you coulf avoid a spawn death.

7.KNOW THE ENEMY... This is similar to switch it up. I prefer Hardline or Blast Shield but if you're playing a team full of Support players calling in UAV all damn game, use Assassin. Don't worry whay people say because honestly Support can bemore "overpowered" than Assassin since any scrub can use Support and it's annoying as hell playing a team full of UAV and EMP whores all game so combat that. Especially if you're not in a party. Against a team of Assault guys, use Blind Eye. Blind Eye helps prevent a lot of deaths besides the Noob Bomber so it's a good perk. However I hate Blind Eye users lol.

8. PARTY UP... This is the easiest way to die less I think. The better your teammates are,the less kills enemies can get. The enemies can't camp as much if you have a team capable of stopping campers. The enemy using Assassin and silencer isn't as bad if you have a team who pays attention and recon drone. I usually play with a party of 4 or more and it helps you win more importantly. Green guys are usually terrible, running around with Riot Shields, quick scoping,shotguns and things they aren't capable of using... Oh and more friends you have on your team, the less splitscreen on your team since they usually suck ass.

9. UNECESSARY FLAG CAPPING... Unless you have a party of beasts DON't triple cap in Domination. Contrary to popular belief, 2 flags in domination is good enough. This isn't breaking news but lots of people hear complain about kill whores not playing objectives but in Domination kill whores help. The point of that mode is not to run all game trying to triple cap rather keep spawns predictable and rush the enemy and MAINTAIN those flags. Triple capping increases people spawning behind you. If you're down 120-156 then maybe triple capping is necessary but if you have a good lead don't triple cap. Lastly, if your team is getting blown out 90-195 don't cap a flag since it won't help you win and you risk another avoidable death.

If you read this all, you must be bored lol. Thanks and if you have any to add,feel free. I am in no way saying I'm so great but some deaths are avoidable. Improving your kills takes more than gun,perk choices but decreasing your deaths is easier.

Thanks for stating the obvious on how to play the game. And there I was thinking this thread was going reveal some nice secrets/tricks or something more advantages into becoming a better player.

Perhaps to you, although by what you've said I'm assuming you aren't one of 'cod retards' whom which (also assuming here) the majority of this thread is aimed at.

Most of its common knowledge I agree, to an above average player. He's right in the sense that there are so many idiots nowadays.

If this was so obvious then why do people do the majorit of the things I mentioned? I appreciate your feedback but clearly this wasn't aimed at you. You think a casual player would do most of these things? No,they would just cry about a gun being "overpowered" or talk about campers. Also every lobby has a few wannabe quick scopers going negative for the satisfaction of a 360 scope. Not trying to cap a flag when it's a blowout, not triple capping in particular are things I see experienced players do. All those things can make you a better player.


I want you to play 5 Ground War games solo and tell me how often people do these annoying ass things. There are more bad COD players than good but thanks either way. I'd also think if someone thought a gun was so overpowered they used it themselves so things aren't always obvious.

Thanks. This thread wasn't aimed at good players anyway it's for newbies. If anyone has ever played a Ground War solo and went 35-2 while his teammates went 5-25 then they'd understand. Play alone and I guarantee you people do this type of stupid shit. These tips are useful. I wouldn't know these things had I not played previous COD.

I have to admit the care package thing is so lame now cause there are always idiots who think some1 has left a decent care package on the floor lol if u dont see them throw it, dont bother with it, but the k/d ratio an camping seems to now be a bigger thing than when the game first came out as countless times this week ive played domination games where my team does nothing but hide a corner an wait for people to come by, im not really a k/d person as i aint lame enough to sit an hide waiting to get kill streaks as i wanna win games an level up faster an capturing objectives is more rewarding

I think everyone on NGU is an experienced, above average player that already knows all that. I appreciate the effort and advice you have given but personally I dont think it was necessary.

I agree with you on everything you said apart from the airdrop trap being lame. Its more funny than lame, when you see someone on your team running towards a carepackage thats been there for the past 5 minutes and I just run the opposite direction coz I know that shits gonna blow and kill the whole team stood around it. Its hilarious.

I wanted to add something. If you don't use blind eye then use a stinger. I use stinger all 4 of my classes. I shot everything out the sky. Plus it counts towards your killstreaks. Also EMP nades are good for taking out sam turrets and sentry guns. My KD was 2.59 when MW3 dropped. Lag and bad spawn has made my kd drop to 2.27 which is still good. But I play with alot of noob players and lose alot of games. I play domination and for somereason these bums like to triple cap. You should know once you triple cap they going to spawn all over the place and then guess what you end up losing 2 flags. I think I got killed by 1 care package. Only reason I went for it was because I seen the guy camping to it. So I figured I had a reaper and got killed.. lol

Also once you kill and you reload either move from the open or lay down till you prone. People tend to spawn behind you feet away from where you killed them.

^^^ Exactly. I understand GOOD players know these things but what Platinum G fails to realize is majority of COD players do all these noob things especially if you play solo. I also don't see how there is a correlation between NGU and being above average. Hell most guys here complain about campers and overpowered guns/killstreals and in my opinion most people who excessively complain about those things are very good players looking for any excuse.

It designed to be easy and sadly it not a constant game.

I would like to add the best way to do well is to camp power spots and play in a party. That way stuff like high damage and lag has less of effect on you.

And most players play for fun not to do well. Some doing well is having fun others not so.
