Post: Switch from Strict NAT to Open NAT.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Good evening,

Here a small tutorial simple and effective allowing you to switch from NAT Strict Nat to Open (also works for Black Ops).

Prerequisites: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

The steps:

- Connect to servers Matchmaking MW3 (if Xbox or PS3) and see if you are NAT Strict.

- If you are NAT Strict, remove Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 of your home console and insert Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

- Connect to servers Matchmaking MW2 (if Xbox or PS3). If you are Open NAT on Matchmaking, you're on the right way!

- Play a full game on the multiplayer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

- After all these steps completed, remove Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on your home console and re-insert Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

- Connect to servers Matchmaking MW3 (if Xbox or PS3). Surprise, you're in Open NAT!

I practice this trick every day, and it's not a trick that requires repetitive handling. Once is enough for a day.

P.S: Sorry, it's Google Trad

Here are some other methods for an Open NAT:

You must login or register to view this content.

The only thing that worked for me was this:

-Enable "Telnet Client" from Windows features.
-Go to Run --> telnet 192.168.1.254 (Or whatever your Modem's password is)
-Enter Modem username and password.

(NOTE: Some Modem's have their username as just Admin, or admin, Administrator, or administrator. Check on Google or consult your modems manual for the username and password. If it's from your ISP you could also try to call them)

Then copy and paste each of the following lines. ONE AT A TIME

:connection bind application=CONE(UDP) port=3074-3075
:connection bind application=CONE(UDP) port=3478-3479
:connection bind application=CONE(UDP) port=3658

I think that MW3 Nat type is broken. Sometimes i tells me it's strict i literary just dashboard and get back on and boom it's open. I have always had a open nat type but only in MW3 does it say strict sometimes.

We have found that you get strict nat when downloading or running a pc in the background (THE WORST IS TORRENTS) that is using your up bandwidth with most new routers now a days there will be a built in mode so that when your console is turned on your router will send enough bandwidth to it and take it from the other systems, but you do need to enable this. Remember even when u close u torrent and programs like that you will still have connections for a few mins as they can take time to disconnect.

If all else fails just unplug your router and modem at the same time for 30 seconds and boot them back up. For any one who does not know how to access there router follow these steps.

1) Find your local ip address out.
2) Press Ctrl Alt & Del
3) Choose Start Task Manager
4) Select File > New Task Run
5) type "cmd.exe" without ""
6) A Dos box will pop up type "ipconfig /all" without ""

This will display your ip address like below, I have highlighted your LOCAL IP Address and the gatewaty.
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Belkin
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Intel(R) 82579V Gigabit Network Connectio
n
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 14-DA-E9-49-2B-6E
DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes
Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes
Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . :(Preferred)
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.2.2(Preferred) THIS IS YOUR LOCAL IP ADDRESS
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Lease Obtained. . . . . . . . . . : 09 December 2011 08:17:22
Lease Expires . . . . . . . . . . : 16 January 2148 09:56:04
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.2.1 THIS IS THE ROUTER IP ADDRESS
DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.2.1
DHCPv6 IAID . . . . . . . . . . . : **-**-**-**
DHCPv6 Client DUID. . . . . . . . : **-**-**-****-**-**-****-**-**-****-**-**-****-**-**-**

Now you have your router IP Address, open internet explorer and type You must login or register to view this content. (BUT REPLACE THIS WITH WHAT YOURS SAYS AND PRESS ENTER) You can then have a look at the settings here and see if everything is working ok.

For any users with NTL / Virgin Or Telewest you can actually view the status of your modem at You must login or register to view this content. if you need a password and a username user root/root

I hope this helps and i was just a bit bored and needed something to do!
