Well after some testing and using this in an actual online game, I have determined that this is not a glitch.
It simply just gives you the appearance that you have unlimited bullets, but you're really just shooting the normal amount.
It does this because after you shoot the big one, you shoot the 2nd one and switch, then you should 1 of the .20mm's bullets.
By the time you get back to the big bullet, it hasn't reloaded, so you're just shooting the 2nd gun's bullets.
When you press Y, it makes it so you don't have enough time to shoot anymore bullets from that weapon.
I know it's confusing to understand, but trust me, it won't get you anymore kills than normal.
