Adding from what others have said.... It isn't just trash talking. Kids have terrible mics and it's gone from people not having mics to terrible mics. It's best to join a party on Xbox for example and just not hear anything and on ps3 you have to mute everyone.

I don't feel trash talking originated on COD, I remember shit talkers back on Counter Strike even. I would say the gaming community as a whole has digressed, people on other communities complain about how their games have lost a sense of community and is invaded by trolls etc. When I hear little kids screwing around, I like to troll them back or screw around just for the luls.
