Today was the release of the modern warfare 3 first content drop for Xbox which included 2 new maps "Liberation" & "Piazza".

What's coming in the rest of the year?

Call of duty has just released the following page which shows the calendar for the season of content: You must login or register to view this content.

This shows that we will see a total of 12 maps, 6 new missions, and 2 new game modes. Whether the missions are spec ops only or possibly one or two campaign related is unclear.
The months for the content is most likely when they will be hitting Xbox, assume a month later for ps3, until the actual wait is announced.

January: 2 maps : Piazza & Liberation
February: Map : Overwatch
March: Map, 2 missions : Blackbox, Black ice, negotiater
April: 2 maps: Santuary & Foundation
May: 4 face off maps (erosion, aground, lookout, getaway), Oasis, 2 spec ops missions: Iron clad & killswitch
June:faceoff maps:vortex, u-turn, intersection, mission: Artic recon
July: 2 maps: Decommission, offshore, spec ops: Vertigo
August: 2 Missions, classified
September: 3 maps

That is the content we will see this year for modern warfare 3. It's a shame to not see guns i there but it's no surprise there isn't.
I find new game modes counting towards DLC to be slightly cheeky as most of the people most likely won't play them, like me.

12 maps, we already have seen 4 of these so there is another 8 to be announced.

Thats just a PR thing. Trust me you will not see anything then maps and Spec ops missions. Thats just how IW works. They can only release weapons which are in the disk, that is weapons found in campaign. AK74 for instance but I HIGLY doubt it coming back

They aren't doing October - December. This is a probability that maybe a new Call Of Duty may be released?

I wonder what the new game modes will be :O

if a new COD game comes out this year, it will be in november, like the previous 5 years.
They wouldnt bring out DLC in october, as its to late, and the next cod would be out soon after

IW forgot to mention this calendar is actual only on XBOX. If i won't see these maps on PS3 in JANUARY, then IW fails [one more time].
