(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys, I am bring you a guide on how to become a rusher or improve your skills on becoming one. This guide will tell you the mentality needed, the "do", the "don't", and key points. I will also include a video at the bottom of me demonstrating it in a gamebattles(GB) match. Please let me know what you think of this guide and I will update it every time I am able to think of a new think to add to help you out.

"Mentality"

Description: I am going to point out a few tips regarding to how a rusher should think. I use these all the time and am really successful at executing the proper route when in game. Now obviously a rusher should have a mind set of pure aggressiveness. A few reasons why are:

  • Great position on the map allowing you to trap the other team.
  • Catch the opponent off-guard as many people will NOT expect a rush these days.
  • Allows you to get around them and pick them off easily.

"Do"

Description: I have seen some people that try to rush in either a public game or a competitive (GB) game. They had a great mentality but they didn't know the correct way to rush. The "Do" list is going to give tips on how to properly rush and when it is appropriate to do certain things on a rush.

  • At the beginning of the game stay around the outskirts of the map. Most people try to watch the insides by sitting along the outsides. If you are rushing and get caught in the middle it is a very hard battle to go SMG vs AR when at medium range. Possible but not likely.
  • Only go in middle if you are performing a rush plant. In order to perform a rush plant you must have support from another rusher. The other rusher needs to run along with a PREDETERMINED route.
  • When going around the opponent(going through their spawn) you must go slow in the spawn. If they know you are rushing in the later rounds you must check corners when traveling through the spawn. The most used way to counter a rush in by others sitting in the spawn waiting.

"Don't"

Description: There are quite a few common mistakes when rushing. Making these mistake tend to get you killed often and you should definitely do your best to not perform these.

  • Do NOT run up the middle. Most rushers tend to do this and it rarely works.
  • Do NOT run the same route every round. Mix up directions of the route or the way you run it.
  • Do NOT throw stuns or grenades when you pass their lines or are drawing close to being around them. If you do you let them know where you are at and you now become and easy target.
  • Do NOT shoot your gun unless you know you have a clean kill. You are in their territory and letting them know where you are will draw them to you. You need to be certain you can get that first kill so you can position yourself to kill other enemies.

"Key Points"

Description: These are great pointers to have in mind when performing a rush. They are great to have in mind and deal with mentality and "do" and "don't".

  • Never get frustrated while rushing. It is one of the hardest things in the game to execute properly and takes time to fully get your routes down, develop the proper pre-nades/stuns, and know when you perform a certain move.
  • Do NOT chase other players when you have a bomb or are setting up to perform a certain plan. All you have to do is call out and then set up to defend/plant a bomb. Chasing a player increases your chances of getting shot greatly. You have to remember that their are other people in the game that are going to be "camping".
  • When you have the bomb be really aggressive. Most people do not think that you will go to bomb early in the round so they tend to stray away from it. Go real aggressive to get position to close in on the bomb and then when you go to make your push take it careful. Check corners and look for that one guy that is actually trying to watch the bomb.

"Random Tip"

Description: This is a trick that I do a lot since most people do the same thing after you plant a bomb. This works VERY well when you have a headset to be able to hear the bomb being picked up.

  • Have a predetermined spot on the bomb site where you are going to plant it. After you have planted the bomb take a long route around the bomb. While you do this your opponent 9/10 will be looking in spots to try to find you. Once you have made it all the way around the bomb post up and sound-whore for the pick up. Do NOT immediately run up there.

  1. Just poke your head up to see if you can see him defusing the bomb. Most people perform a fake defuse on the first one.
  2. If he picks it up with around 12 seconds left wait till about 8.5 seconds. This allows you to either kill him while he defuses or if it was another fake he kills you and you leave him no time to defuse the bomb.

"Video"

Description: This is me performing these in GB matches. I hope you learned something from this guide and let me know if this guide worked for you or if it helped any. Feel free to quote me and ask me any questions regarding what I did in the video. Also I did a few "don't", see if you can point them out.

"Gun"

Description:Obviously some SMG's are without a doubt better than others, but what should you look for in a SMG? There are a few quality in an SMG that needed to be taken into consideration and they are:

  • The rate of fire so that you can shoot out more bullets faster than someone with the AR so you don't get beat at close range.
  • Hipfire. Some guns have a different hipfire when at close range.
  • Recoil. You wouldn't think recoil on a SMG would be that much but it is. You wouldn't want to be on a long straight map and not be able to kill someone at medium range because your gun is having a spaz attack.
  • Damage. You don't want a gun that takes 5 shots to kill. Everyone likes the fast kills so they can get ready for the next gun battle.

With that being said we can narrow it down to 3 guns. The UMP-45, PP90, and the MP7. All three guns can be VERY effective based on the maps you use them on.
PP90:For tight maps with a ton of corners such as Hardhat, I would use the PP90. Hardhat is a VERY easy map to rush. When you succeed in the rush you are almost immediately in enemy spawn/territory. The rate of fire on and hipfire the PP90 is TERRIFIC and that's why I recommend using in on this map so if you get caught off guard you still have a great chance of winning the gunfight.
UMP45:The UMP has a great advantage that the other guns do not have. The damage on the ump is well above the other SMG's. It has moderate recoil but can be easily controlled with a little bit of practice. The only problem with the UMP is the rate of fire and this makes this a gun to use on medium range maps such as Carbon. Carbon has a TON of camping spots. The game has been out long enough for countering the camping spots. I recommend the UMP on a map like this because when you have that line of sight you can shoot him and if you BURST the gun properly you can pick him off easily. I also recommend range on this to make that easier. Range decreases the fall off damage so shooting someone at medium range leaves the power of the UMP to be about the same.
MP7:This is probably the most used SMG on the game. It is valuable on any map because it has a good rate of fire and has just about no recoil making it a good choice on long range maps. The only bad thing about this gun is the hipfire. I have noticed that in a SMG vs SMG battle at close range the hipfire of the MP7 is lacking. That's why I only recommend it on long rage maps. If you manage to perfect this gun and are able to maneuver the map extremely fast and efficiently then this is the gun for you. I wouldn't recommend this gun if you can't control the hipfire. The spread on the hipfire is wide so you need to be able to line up the crosshairs well to be able to effectively use this gun to its best ability. If you are able to get the hipfire down then the gun to use is without a doubt the MP7.

That really makes me proud of the time I spent making this thread, and as to your request I will have a new video added to the thread hopefully by 5PM EST tomorrow. The video will contain a commentary breaking down why I use certain attachments and when I prefer to use the gun.

Great, looking forward to it.

You should also take in to consideration and be able to adapt on the way they play so just in case you lose the first round, you know what to do differently the next time around.
