I saw Jericho's new vid and i liked it a lot. He spoke of an opinion (which i agree with) that caught my eye. This commentary has been done 9000x over. It has been done for many games. In where the commentator speaks of why he is not enjoying the game anymore. Well let me sum up the video. COD has lost its glory not because challenge lobbies, over powered weapons, etc. It has been lost because their is not much left to learn. Seriously, some of us when we play this game we play it like zombies. I will give you an example for domination or search and destroy players. Find 5 games in your theater, where you start off in the same area (and of course the same map) the first 10s are similar. Most of us when we bought this game we tried to juice up as many hours as we could to play it. Honestly, for the call of duty vets, the only thing that keeps us going is the competitive aspect. What i mean is, most of us know how to drop shot, quick scope, and all that jazz. Really the only thing keeping us going is the competitive aspect. Such as getting high stats, challenges completed, etc. Many former call of duty players say that x game is more fun. I say that x game is more fun because they are learning about x game, and have not learned everything. At the end of the day, every cod is just about the same. This is life, we lose lust for things we love doing. Anyways, i just felt like sharing this opinion. Feel free to discuss your respectful opinions.

I was one of those who denied that at first, but now I've come to see the light. I've played it so much, and it has served as such a major influence in my life, that it's pretty much defined an entire part of who I am. In retrospect, I see how foolish I was to allow gaming to consume such a large portion of my schedule; I've squandered so many non-gaming opportunities and relationships just to pursue goals in an entirely virtual world that was intended to be purely for entertainment.

What most gamers fail to realize is that their hobby accomplishes nothing; every achievement only provides temporary gratification. Gaming will not last forever, so it is far more wise to invest time in something fulfilling, and lasting. I don't understand why humans attach themselves so strongly to things that can be taken away from them instantly, instead of focusing on things of permanence. Those individuals who spent 500+ hours on the game, and were reset; what have they truly accomplished? Temporary fame? Their names and reputation will soon be forgotten, and in a few years they'll realize how naive and careless they were for investing so much time in gaming, when they could have worked towards something more socially and mentally beneficial. This is why I "quit" PS3. I've abandoned leaderboards, stats, recognition and competitive gaming totally, all that remains is regret and a haunting feeling of emptiness.

I honestly find it sad that whenever I join a voice/text chat on PSN these days, the conversation is always about who's more known, who's better at the game, or about who has a better history of fame. It's pathetic, I don't want anything to do with it any longer.

Thank you legal, as for me i don't think i will quit gaming. Nor do i think for me their is a necessity to quit gaming. Gaming has helped me keep my calm, when i went to a different country, I didn't know as many people as i do now. You are right, it is pathetic, at the end of the day, our challenges in the game are temporary. In a year we all have a clean slate , hell how many people have bought dozens of PS3s to be #1 on MW2 just to be overtaken by a free hacking tool. Anyways, i do not resent my gaming experience because i have met interesting people such as yourself in this giant gaming world. I have had a lot of fun, such as when we spawn trapped seeing those ridiculous scores. It would make me sleep 1000x better knowing that tomorrow i will go 100+ again with less than 10 deaths. I appreciate your opinion, i wish you well in your future path, and you have me added on Skype Winky Winky. Knowing you man, you will achieve something amazing in life, if you remain the same.

Honestly, i think the reason why call of duty is boring is because we expect so much more in each new call of duty
but the truth is, with the current consoles, we can't advance, there is a certain limit that they can reach, and it has been reached.
until we get new consoles, we wont be able to see what new advances can come to call of duty.
think about it. the ps3 and xbox are almost 7 year old consoles.
an iphone has more ram than a xbox or ps3.
we NEED new consoles so that gaming can interest us again

I respectfully disagree, i had a lot of fun on simple built consoles. I believe that i have more hours on the Pokemon series , than any other series. Compared to MW3 Pokemon is very simple. When i played the game on my Gameboy, the Gameboy had like 20% brightness compared to the computer you are probably using. I never complained about graphics, gameplay, glitches, etc. The way i see it the PS4 is going to catch our eyes with something revolutionary, and in a couple of years the PS4 will be a simple console, we turn on just to watch movies, and play games. Remember all of the PSHome hype? A practical fail project on sony's part. You can put shit in a bag, add led lights, add new hardware, and some interesting applications to it. It will still be shit in the long run. You will get bored of the PS4, the PS5, and wherever the Playstation series decides to reach to.

Can't you say that about anything in life in the end it just temporary?
Temporary gratification of ranking up is why i only rank up once.

Gaming is a hobby most people forget that.

4 years of the constant same formula is showing it effect
What worries me is that the core faults of the game are not fixed.....COD is not a constant game as a result it hard to tell if you are good or if it just the game helping you.

Black ops 2 i hope changes the formula ALOT i mean lower TTK , No radar no perks etc back to basics a new style of map design. No killstreaks skilled players completely pwn with ded servers
One can dream of that day.......

One of the biggest problems is devs just blindly following the COD formula which is one reason why alot of FPS fail they to try copy COD. But can't do it without the same issues and we get bored as we already have a COD game.
Than we end up with games being the same as COD which sucks :/

I play COD because the other shooters have tried to copy it , if i wanted a copy i would play COD i don't

If you played COD long enough and played shooters enough you should understand what i just said......i hope.

CoD is not the only game that is essentially the same CoD every year with a few adjustments here and there when you look at it... That really goes for any for and franchise. Madden, 2ksports, Smackdown vs Raw, etc. Companies add something that gives users that "wow" factor that lures gamers to buy the new game each year.

Some people are so hooked to the franchise, and I'm sort of speaking for myself. I'll take a bet that if they release the next similar COD under a different name, nobody would play it.

The only reason I play Call of Duty now is for GameBattles. I find GB much more exciting and fun than normal public matches.

Sweet post +rep... I got only one thing to say, i prolly have like 60days+ in Counter Strike.. whats so good about CS graphics and gameplay ? Lol, nothing special just the game itself.. Ok can't compare PC to PS3... COD is boring because since MW2 the game developers tryhard listening to the 10years old community..

I agree with him, I think that's why I loved CoD4 so much, it was my first online experience and I learned so much, after that, the joy of CoD began to drain.
