Introduction: This is the 8th game in the great Call of Duty series. Made by Treyarch, the people who made COD3, which was pretty bad. This game was looked down upon for taking the theme back to WWII and because it was being developed by Treyarch. But boy were the accusations of this being a horrible game wrong.

Campaign: The solo campaign is just as short as COD4’s campaign, but it will take you MUCH longer to finish this game. Why? It is extremely challenging. Even on recruit difficulty you will find yourself dying from time to time.
You play as Pvt. Miller a USMC against the Japanese Army. The Japanese AI is very good and they use guerilla warfare tactics. You will see them jump out of nowhere and kill you. But when you got a flame thrower you will find yourself thinking “ BURN BABY BURN”…maybe that’s just me. So when in these missions you must keep your eyes peeled at all times.

The second character you play as Pvt.Dimitri Petrenko a soldier in the Red Army against the German Nazis. When playing as Petrenko it is pretty much a vacation against the stupid Nazi soldiers(recruit). They are so weak you can literally clear an entire room of 15 Nazis with a knife. I have done it.

13 action packed missions that challenging but fun. Won’t take more then 4-5 hours to beat on recruit. And when you do beat it, it will be worth it.

Music: One of the best music triggers I have ever played with. The music intensifies the action even more. Nothing much more I can say about this. Just that it is great and makes this so much fun to play.

Online Co-op: A brand new feature to the Call of Duty Series. You can now play with up to 4 friends split screen or online. You can replay the levels co-operatively in which you try to help each other through the level. If you are about to die you will go to “Last Stand” mode and a friend will have to revive you.

The competitive gives you a different objective, be number one. You get points by killing enemies and lose points for shooting friendlies.*

Online Multiplayer: Just as addicting as COD4, if not more. The maps are a lot more open meaning less campers lying around. I have noticed that most of the times you die or get a kill it is from the back. And the vehicles are re-introduced to certain maps.

Modes

Boot Camp: Team deathmatch for new players. This is closed after reaching level 8. (6-12 players)

Team Deathmatch: Eliminate the enemy players. (6-12 players)

Free for All: No allies here kill everyone that you see.(6-12 players)

War: Capture the bases and try to keep them. Your mission is accomplished when you have all the bases. If it is a tie when the time runs out then you will have to fight over one base, whoever captures it wins the match. (6-12 players)

Domination: Three neutral flags, the more flags you capture the more points you get. (6-12 players)

Headquarters: Capture the headquarters and survive until reinforcements arrive. The team with the headquarters do not respawn.

Sabotage: Get the neutral bomb in the middle of the map and plant it on the enemies haystack(that’s what it looks like).

Search & Destroy: Plant the bomb or defend your “haystack”. No respawn and a kill is worth 50 points.

Ratings:

Campaign: 9/10
Music: 10/10
Co-op: 9/10
Online Multiplayer: 9/10
Overall: 9/10

***BONUS***
Nazi Zombie Mode: Unlocked when you complete the solo campaign on any difficulty.

You are dropped off in a “haunted” house and must defend yourself against never ending waves of zombies. Weapons can be bought by points you get for killing zombies and barricading the windows. Points can also be used to unlock special rooms where you can buy other weapons. Play with your friends from school or online.

Rating: 10/10 EXTREMELY FUN.
