I used to play as part of a clan back in the days when UT ruled the roost over Quake 3 Arena on the PC (go on, argue with me Happy ), and back then, in a weird way, belonging to a clan really meant something, especially come match nights. I always saw it as the online gaming equivalent of a pub pool league - that same social concept of belonging to a larger group combined with the opportunity to put your pride and ego where your mouth were and slog it out for little but the bragging rights.

With console gaming, a lot of this seems to be lost, and CoD (and probably various other games i havent yet played) attempts to help grow this idea on a console platform its not quite worked, though on the call of duty community site there seems to be tools in development to further support this.

This post is two-fold as well Smile In an effort to recapture the spirit of the old days ( ruffles his tartan blanket, examines his slippers, lights his pipe ) Ive signed [:GS:] up to gamebattles.com. As we stand, despite having several members on our roster, its mainly family and friends, and we struggle to rustle up a team of four, and so we are on the lookout for new members. Failing that, we're also looking for other clans for fun matches, or team up to take on the ranked lobbies. We play mainly TDM, but a few members also have an interest in the tactical games. We have no hard and fast rules of recruitment, just add me as a friend (PS3 : F4M1LYOF4 but xbox players are welcome to join and start a seperate team ) and play alongside us, and those we consider worthy, or those who rub our faces in the dirt with your 10:1 KD ratios will be invited to join Happy
