FIRST OF ALL:
You need to know where the HQ will pop up on each map.

The EASIEST way to find out where they will pop up is to go into a private match and just set the game mode to HQ and wait for the HQ's to pop up.

SECOND OF ALL:

Your classes mean EVERYTHING in this game mode.
A good class too use for a beginner (A.K.A Noob) is

Primary:MP40/Thompson
Secondary:Whatever you prefer
1st perk:x2 Bouncing betties
2nd perk:Stopping power
3rd perk:I know everyone hates this but I like to use matyrdom because if your in the HQ area, and someone kills you, they will most likely come run in and try capturing it, but your grenade kills them first.
Tank perk: Who cares?

A good class for lvl 53+...
Primary:PPSH-41
Secondary:.49 Magnum
1st perk:x2 Bouncing betties
2nd perk:Stopping power
3rd perk:Matyrdom
Tank perk: Who cares?

Okay, now your just about ready.

The key in headquarters isn't stealth, actually... Its the complete opposite... You want to capture the HQ as soon as possible.

A really good way to get exp is to capture your HQ until your at about 240 points, then don't capture it until the time is up.(Unless your losing.) What this does is, it gives you lots of kills, to adventually give you more points!

Why is headquarters such a good game mode?

Its a very good game mode because once you/ your team captures it, you keep getting +5 about every 1-2 seconds.
