make a friend who has a jailbroken ps3, and have him do a data transfer. you will need to format your hdd, but that isnt too bad, just back up your stuff on a flash drive, or a pc.

Yes it is possible, you just need to find a way to get "your" patches into .PKG form for the PS3 to read.

Very easy to create a PKG, impossible to encrypt and sign it.
