There is almost nothing you can do to stop the mp40 other than to fight fire with fire. Your only chance is if you have a bit of a distance in between your enemy. You can have a match on dome with mp40 stopping power and steady aim and never even have to pull up your sights to get 30+ kills (on a bad day). The other day when I was getting my challenges completed for the STG44 I would begin shooting in the back only to have them turn around and cap me w/ mp40, so f*#%ing annoying.
