O.K., let me clear some things up. The gun pictured above IS an STG-44 (same thing as an MP43/44.) Vampir Vision is a code name for Zielgerät 1229 (as some one pointed out). This attachment was one of the earliest recorded uses of infrared sights. Approximately 310 Zielgerät 1229's were implemented to the Wehrmacht in the latter part of WWII. With the low amount of these in use, the Zielgerät 1229 had no real effect on the war. The Zielgerät 1229 was also attached to both MG-34 and MG-42.

I am still researching the DG-2 part of this gun. I will get back to you all when I do find the answer.

EDIT 5/12/09: Ok, the DG-2 Magic Bullet may refer to a bullet in a German Folklore play titled Der Freischütz . In the play, a young marksman is given seven magic bullets. These bullets kill anything in one shot no matter what. source:You must login or register to view this content.

Yea that looked alot like the STG-44. I also asked that a couple of times when other people posted that picture you have above. Also thanks for clearing everything up.
