A major difference in fighting the Japanese zombies is the battleground it takes place in. Remember that the Nazi zombies both took place in closed buildings. Often, you would end up opening certain rooms in an attempt to flank/funnel the zombies in for a stronger advantage. But in this case, this is not true. The Japanese zombies fight in an open but misty and forested swamp area. Here, the zombies rise out of the murky waters and slowly go in for the kill. But, it is hard to see the zombies well since a dense mist surrounds the area, limiting your vision. But on an open note, you actually have the ability to go into the open swamp area. In the swamp area, there is no dead end, and you can easily run around the whole area as you plow your way through hoards of zombies. The swamp is also dotted with jungle, allowing you to flank zombies as you navigate through complex paths of trees, vines, and bushes. But on the downside, your in swamp water, so your mobility becomes limited (You will still be able to run, but not as fast). Lastly, the swamp also has traps you can set up. There are 2 different types of traps to choose from. They are the land mine (When a zombie steps on them, he and other zombies around him will explode) and the trip wire (When a zombie walks over this, 2 logs with spikes on the edges of them will come falling down, smashing the zombie(s) in the middle of them). These traps will be reset after each use, cannot affect you, and come in at reasonable prices. But on the downside, each takes roughly 5-10 seconds to set up depending on the trap.

If the swamp area is not for you, an ancient, rotting Japanese shrine stands in the center of the swamp. There are 2 entrances in the front and back of the rotted wood shrine, one on the front side and one on the back side. Inside, a few torches dot the interior, allowing for some dim light to illuminate the rooms. On the walls include chalk marks for American and Japanese weaponry, such as the M1 Garand Bayonet, Thompson, BAR, M1897 Trench Gun, Arisaka Bayonet, Type 99, or the Type 100. The Shrine is has 2 floors on it, one room for each floor, giving the shrine an open feel just like the swamp. A staircase on the wall of the first floor allows entrance to the second floor. The second floor has 1 main attraction, the Oni shrine. For a price, you can pray to the Oni shrine and cause the Oni (A Japanese demon) that inhabits the shrine to awaken and infest the shrine. When the demon infests the shrine, you get access to a number of luxuries. The first luxury is of course the Mystery Box. The Mystery Box still retains its role, but after each use, it switches location to the other floor (So if you used it on the second floor, it would teleport to the first floor and so on). The Oni also infests the teapots on the first floor, giving you the ability to get Perk Tea (Which is the equilvalent of Perk Cola in Verrückt). For a price, you can pay the Oni for Perk Tea, which gives you a certain Perk when drunk. There are a total of 6 different Perk Teapots to choose from, including Sleight of Hand, Double Tap, Quick Revive, Juggernaut, Deep Impact, and Extreme Conditioning. There are also 4 Perk Teas on the second floor. These Perk Teas are Hellhounds, Oni Rage, Wonder Weapon, and Drain. The Hellhounds Perk Tea causes a swarm of flaming Hellhounds to emerge from the altar and attack the Japanese soliders. Every bite from the Hellhound is a 1 hit KO. But the downside of this is that if you touch the Hellhound, you are automatically put into Last Stand, and the Hellhounds disappear after 2 minutes. The Oni Rage Perk Tea is basically the same thing. The Oni infesting the shrine will emerge from the shrine with a kanabō (A giant wooden club covered with steel), and will destroy any Japanese zombie in it's path. The good part about this is that the Oni will remain on it's spree for 4 minutes and cannot hurt you, but costs much more than the Hellhounds do. The Wonder Weapon Perk Tea allows access to the Wunderwaffe DG-2 outside. This weapon is a giant mounted machine gun that is equilvalent of a Ray Gun in power. But the downside of this is that you are somewhat vunerable when using this weapon and it overheats easily. Lastly, the Drain perk causes the Japanese zombies to become incredibly slow and weak for a short period of time, making them easy prey (But it does not increase the total amount of the zombies themselves). But again, this tea is incredibly expensive.

So with all of these items to your advantage, the swamp allows for scary, but spectactular fun!
