I am error
hey i tried this today with my friend console. his account was made a long time ago way before map pack 1.
well we tried
1) Enter Prestige mode
2) count to 2 then unplug Ethernet cable
3) hold down PlayStation button on front of console to turn it off
4) plug in Ethernet cable and switch console on
5) start cod 5
but he was still 65th on same prestige
now is it common for it not to work all the time. or are the steps i am taking wrong.

haha i am sorry for you. did you get bullied at school
and i am on 9th prestige which iv started today so i do not need this no more!
and you mention 67,000 kills. but how long have you been playing in total without glitching the one thing i hate it people doing these kill streaks and shit. o well they keep glitching and i keep owning everyone i play against so doesn't bother me if you think your good play some team deathmatch and hope you don't run into me

weird... i did it all the way to the 10th prestige but i am wireless and used a router to do it..
**STEPS**
1. have your ps3 AND WIRELESS ROUTER both by each other.
2. go to the prestige section on cod5 and stop right before it says "theres no turning back , blahhh blahh..."
3.Timing is KEY here. now UNPLUG the power cord to your wireless router(it shouldn't disconnect you right away), wait 2-3 seconds THEN complete the prestige.
4. QUICKLY flip your ps3 system OFF using the switch in the back, IMMEDIATLY plug back in your power cord to your wireles router.
5.Flip your ps3 system back ON with the switch in the back and start up cod5.
6. If done correctly you should be ranked up ONE prestige and still be a level 65.
7.repeat steps 1-5 until you reach your desired prestige
