It's good, but could have been WAY better. It was rushed, plain and simple. Think of how exciting it was the first time you played Nacht der Untoten. Asylum brought many new features, with an increase in size. SNN was different because it was daytime, perks random (that kept each "match" different, LOVED IT!) map was flat out HUGE, had dogs, and new guns. This new map doesn't have that excitement, and they should have left the zombies as they were from the previous map.
Zombies have an unfair advantage in numbers, so why let them melee twice in the same time before the player can land one melee (I know it's not always the case, but it IS possible). They have a range that is hard to deal with, and 1-hit kills are a frequent annoyance.
This new one has new features, but the implementation was poor. It's nice to have new stuff to spend points on, and they finally figured out a way to reward opening up the map. The location of the perks is poor, same with guns available on the walls. How stupid is being able to buy gewer, then open an area and get m1a1? And you can get an fg42 off the wall by round three and turn on power, but not the thompson or mp40? Need to have thompson/mp40 early... The BAR still sux, and should be cheap and available early. Having the PaP in the middle was poor planning, should be in a newly opened area. Or have teleporter in the middle take you there once linked to athe other 3 (seeing as how you can't teleport OUT from the middle). Sux having to wait by PaP to get your upgraded gun, zombies start to swarm, then not be able to teleport out. Mounted guns should have been figured out by now, also. The Bowie knife needs an upgrade itself after round 12. Courtyard area needs more than 2 entrances/doors; the zombies can use at least three (2 doors and fence in the middle), so using the teleporters doesn't even force the zombies to use a certain path. (perhaps a hole players can crawl through but zombies can't would have seemed fair?). Carpenter is cool, but has very little "game-changing" effect like bomb, insta-kill, or ammo. A "zombie-speed down" drop (ie: all walkers for 30 seconds) would have been nice instead to provide a real break in the action.
Biggest mistake in Der Reise: Having the new features so inaccessible. A good map that could have been great. Hopefully, this map was rushed out to get a quick buck while they are hard at work creating a masterpiece. I give it 7/10. Feels like Nacht der Untoten meets Asylum with more rooms.
