I got this working finally, had bought another ps4 that had a drive that wouldn't accept discs and got it working again and it's on 3.50 (seller conveniently didn't tell me it's not original bd drive)
So thought I'd download some games from psn...now they all failed due to slow server response due to the proxy?. I logged out and kept the Internet connection on and I could restart them and they worked.
Done this with one game, repeated the steps above but as I logged in, I changed the network setup without the proxy...and I stayed logged in and can now download fine off psn!
Should this really be happening? I thought I would have been logged out but it's churning away downloading 100's of gb worth of games.
Buzzing that it's working but doubt it'll last long, least I can play some games on it
Thank-you red!
Btw, it's on a UK account on UK servers.
I have made a video showing my console on 3.50 with no proxy on today's date 15/7/2016 to prove.
Once I launched an online game, it twigged and asked me to update and signed me out and the rest if the games continued to download
Yes it will download just fine, but as soon as you want to play you might want to turn on Proxy.
