It doesn't even say device not recognized, but usually after multiple plugging in and unplugging i may get lucky and it works.

It's broken... This is why you should use the safely remove feature on computers.

It might not be broken but it could be the drivers.... Same thing happened to me just go to your computer manufacturer and look for the drivers.... or open up the computer and check the connections...
