(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok, so since I have the sh*tiest computer ever, I raised enough money to get a new one, so please tell me what I could improve/get for less.

That's my comp build. The moniter I'm getting (I guess I am)

On top of that, I need a mouse and keyboard, so all together it's around 750.

I have 650 currently, and am hoping to sell a few more things with ebay.

Please tell me what I can do to improve it. Just so you know, my friend built this (He builds/makes/assembles computers for everyone), so I might not know the terminology.

Things I need:

every thing, I am starting from scratch

Thank you!

Also, I am aiming for a gaming computer, FYI. Also, I'm paying with PayPal.

The games I want to play smoothly are as follows:
Minecraft
GunZ the Duel
Some steam games (BFBC 2, Black Ops)
And other ones. I really want to play gunZ good, though.

Actually i run the same processor. I over clocked it to 4.0ghz and it runs much faster than i need it to run... its a GREAT processor... price is good and you can get just as much bang for your buck.

Msi products are however garbage. go with a ASUS mother board... you cant go wrong. As far as video card go with sapphire or xfx radeon 5770 or 5870 both are good cards.

BTW: amd processors do run hot when overclocked. I was running around 45 degrees..
i bought a coolermaster 202+ heatsink and now im running 28-30 degrees. much cheaper and in my personal opinion better that intel.

Dude, you should soooooooooo get this motherboard;
MSI 790FX-GD70 Motherboard.
Ive had it in combination with the same processor you selected (x4 965) and it was a beast! OC'd to 4.8 STEADY!
Has ddr3 support and quad video cards. When you get your other 500 bucks, get 2 video cards and you are good to go!

600watts is a bit too much as your not overclocking the quad core cpu. even if you where 600watts au-ta do it. in my rig im only using 500watts as i3's dont overheat at all!

i would get a cheaper m-atx mobo as your not running sli or crossfire. $100 maybe?

and then with the saving of the mobo i would go for 8gb of ram.

oh and the case if you buy a m-atx mobo i suggest getting the nzxt vulcan case, small but has everything! i will post my build below, its a budget rig but enough for playing cysis etc at playable FPS.

And my intel quad at 4.8GHz on air sits at 55 - 60 full load (sandy bridge is the way to go), not to mention:

Quad vs hex really no comparison is how bad amd's chips are. Sure you pay less but you also get alot less out of it. same can be said for their quads:

I really dont see the sense in getting something that is that gimped only because you feel you saved money

Make sure the amps on the power suppy are enough to power everything... My buddy just learned a expensive lesson... just cause the video card says 450 watt minimum doesnt mean the amps are enough to support it :x

good build but i think you should wait and get a better one Smile
