(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have birthday and Graduation within a month. :carling: Time to build a computer...
I don't know TOO much about computers but I think I can handle this. I'm trying to make a hackint0sh and dualboot windows7 and Snow Leopard. I just need help seeing if I'm doing anything wrong on the hardware side though, because I'm not familiar with building computers.

I do NOT want to spend anymore than $800ish(My Budget was like $700, lmfao) and I want to buy everything from newegg.

I already made a few drafts of which parts to buy, but tell me if you have any changes or suggestions, but remember, I'm already over budget.

*I've read that if making a hackint0sh you need to put all the ram next to each other towards the motherboard. I've also read when your building a PC that when your placing the RAM you always spread them out. I'm buying 4x 2GB sticks instead of 2x 4GB sticks to solve that problem. Might sound stupid, but again, I've never built a computer before.

As a word of warning on the samsung hard drive, my friend bought one of them, the first died within 2 months and the replacement he got for it died in under 10 days. I'm not sure if it's the HDD you picked but it's definetley one of the samsung 2TB internal HDD's.

Are you gonna be following any online guides or just going off of the knowledge of building computers you already have? If the former please link me Smile

Who’s Jim Erased?
Your missing a graphics card :p That'd probably bump up a couple dollars.

And honestly, if you have a budget and your downgrading what you want because of it, then don't buy it yet. Your going to be bummed in the end when your computer isn't the thing you wanted, then your having to spend tons of money re-upgrading it and stuff. It just adds up to be WAY more than you wanted to spend.

Lol the graphics card was already in the price but I forgot to post it. I'm running a 2008 Macbook and I think it's amazing...this will blow that out of the water lol.

Do or Do Not, There is No Try
I've built my first computer a few years back. My professional advice is to only buy Western Digital hard drives. All others will just crap out on you. I am also now a fanboy of using the diamond based thermal compound rather than Arctic Silver 5 (AS5). It really does an amazing job reducing heat.

This is something you might consider, uses comparable components, and gives you a large leeway on price for extras, I did not include mouse, keyboard, or paste. These are more personal taste, and the paste really isn't needed unless you are going to Overclock.
