I would just like to know if it would be possible to rip box office content from my virgin media HD box similar to Sky HD box.

If whatever you're asking about uses component, then yes it's 100% possible. There'd also be no preventative measures in place as there are when using HDMI, as component is older and more primitive tech.

The Virgin box only uses HDMi but i can get a HDMi to component cable would this still work?

Im guessing if i have HDMi in my Virgin box and that goes into component on the HDPVR i should be fine?

You mean like a converter or something between the TV & HD PVR? Should work I guess, never tried it though

it should work with the converter as thats all you should need it should be the same as having component if you need anymore help just let me know
