I don't need any type of powerhouse computer, just one for basic computing and possibly a few games. Does this look like a good one to go with? If anyone has any suggestions as to what is better for around the same price than please share. Thanks Smile

Depends which games. Portal and Half Life or whatever you'll be okay with. But Cod may be really difficult to run.

Other than that the computer looks pretty good for the price.

Internet surfing and using programs like Photoshop would be fine on a computer like this. It's 64 Bit which is a really nice thing for this kind of PC.

I was thinking Sims or maybe a couple sports games like Madden or Nba 2k, would they be fine do you think? Thanks btw

Yeah, Asus gives good quality for good pricing.
This laptop is pretty good, and cheap, not sure about the processor though but its a Dual Core
clocked at 2 GHz so you should be fine. Also about Games; it has an Integrated Graphics card, so I'm not sure.

@Above
I think it can handle Sims easily, on the other Game you might have to adjust some settings down but I still think it's possible Winky Winky

Sims is a go. But NBA 2k and Madden would probably run at decent FPS on lower settings. Overall it wouldn't be horrible but for this price it's a good deal. I guess you could upgrade if it's a must to play those games. But it shouldn't have to.

This computer went out of stock yesterday, So now i'm in between This: You must login or register to view this content. and This: You must login or register to view this content. I'm a big fan of the 17" screen but its not a big deal if the other computer runs better.

The Asus has slightly performance and a larger hard drive. But it has a smaller screen. The Asus is smaller in terms of weight as well. I'd say this: If your looking to use nothing but the internet and photshop, get the larger screen. But since you want to play games and such, the Asus seems much better for your needs.
