(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I recently got my new laptop and I bought it because it was such a great deal for the specs.
Its an HP Pavilion dv7-6135dx

The laptop was advertised to have 10 hours of battery life and that was one of my major selling points about this laptop. Unfortunately, I cant help but feel like im only getting 4-5 hours with it and its a little upsetting. My question is that is there anything I can do to improve the battery life? like, stop some unneccesary background processes or remove anything thats not necessary? any and all suggestions are welcome!Smile Thanks!

i've never heard about a 10 hours battery...

why dont you just plug it in if your not out and about , isnt that the point of a laptop ?

What you can do is:

1. Lower the brightness of your screen.
2. Stop some processes.
3. Wifi is a biggie, it will run down battery fast.
4. Do NOT leave your laptop plugged in to long, it will ruin the battery.
5. Do NOT use the laptop for long hours while it is plugged in.

When they advertise 10 hours of battery life, most of the time, its bullshit. When ipod touch first came out the battery lasted along time but broke fast. All you need to do is take good care of it, i didn't do any of these things to my laptop, and it broke after a year of using.

Hope these help, if you need more help please feel free to contact me.

thanks! i already do keep my screen brightness down to a bare minimum jus cause i dont need it bright to see it hahaha and what processes do you know of that I could possibly stop? or is it dependent on what programs I have installed on my laptop?

and turning off wi-fi is probably the biggest battery drainer since i do use the internet quite a bit hahaha:p

thanks for the help!Smile

It depends on what programs you have installed. Also viruses use a lot of process memory.
