(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Yeah so I'd like suggestions, I'd like to minimize the price of the total as much as possible, so if anyone can recommend a different/cheaper/better:

  • Power supply
  • Motherboard

That would be brilliant.

I'm on a very tight budget so I'll be buying a graphics card later, incase you're wondering why it isn't there.

You don't need a 700W PSU if you don't even have a graphics card. Also, DON'T buy the CM hyper 212, it's a pile. Not to mention that motherboard is a heap of shit, but I see nothing wrong with it.

The cooler I was recommended by a friend and so was the motherboard. What alternatives would you recommend?

I overlooked the cooler, It's not bad. The PSU, also, I didn't know you said you were getting one later on.

Okay, it's just that my budget is around £200 and the little I can get is around £270. If I was to get a HD 6950 later on, what minimum power rating should I go for on the PSU? It's just that I have a 500W sitting here doing nothing...

It's irrelevant but if you're buying that CPU I highly recommend overclocking to at least 3.6, it's half the point of having an AMD black edition processor.

That was my plan. Smile To do that though, would I need water cooling, or would just standard air cooling be okay? :p

I haven't used those particular CPU's but in general AMD processors are cool and quiet, I had an athlon II x2 ages ago OC'd from 3 to 3.6 and it would only go up to like 53 degrees under load and this was all with the stock/normal cooling.

The 500W will work for now, but you would need at least a 600 if you wanted a 6950.
