First off Im running HP G42 and when i turn on the computer it gets stuck on the Starting Windows screen. When i put in the installation cd it says a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. Can someone please help THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

Yes sir! I tried the cd and that happened.

Does the computer boot in safe mode? Have you twiddled with anything hardware related? Software related? Have you tried to remove a stick of RAM and see if that works?
