yeah i supose, but the i7 has hyperthreading within it, so if you wanted to render a video for example, then it would do it faster as it has 4 "virtual" cores. as for games, you want really notcie the difference between the two, the main thing that affects fps is the gfx card, so any difference in 2 such high end processor will be un-noticeable.

its free to build it yourself, if you are confident. its basically just slotting wires into sockets. however if you are going to assemble it yourself, then make sure you get rid of any static on your hands by either touching a metal object before you start or by buying an anti-static wrist band(

or if you are worried about it there are many places you can send the components to and they will assemble it (for a fee)
