I've never built a PC before, is this build any good or god-awful? Any improvements you can give me? I'm wondering about the graphics card, is it any good and will it last?

Considering you're buying a cooler like that your best bet is to get the i5 2500k and overclock it, and if you don't plan on overclocking you wouldn't really need the i5 2500k let alone the i7 2600k anyway.g 50 pounds extra for 100MHz of processing power and some better threading capabilities by getting that CPU, as I said that CPU is useless overkill for anything except programs that can use the threading and cores properly, which isn't many, and basically the only things that do are video encoding programs. Other than that your choices are good, spinpoint F3 HDD's are awesome and corsair RAM works well too.

You're not being stubborn, I'm the one being stubborn.

I am taking in everything you're saying and I thank you for telling me the differences between an i5 and and i7. I appreciate you trying to help me save some money by informing me that it's only slightly better than the i5. It might be a case of 'I just got a lot of money so I want to spend it' syndrome but I would like to have an i7. I'm really sorry because it seems like I'm just disregarding everything you're saying. I realise I'm acting a bit stupid.

Thanks for reassuring me about the Spinpoint F3, I was getting a little dissuaded about getting it. Someone told me they weren't very good because 'Seagate bought Samsung' or something.

Do you have any advice about the case? They both seem the same and I want to buy the second one for the looks mainly. If it performs less well than the first one I wont be getting it though.
