I've never built a PC before, is this build any good or god-awful? Any improvements you can give me? I'm wondering about the graphics card, is it any good and will it last?

I just recently started building pcs and i researched every last thing i could possibly know so i hope i am able to help ^_^. Anyways, I don't see any problems except you might want to get a 7200 rpm hard drive instead of 5400 rpm for speed but it is slightly more expensive. The video card is fine but i am not too familiar with the quality of gigabyte but i heard it's pretty good and cheap. Overall, i think it's pretty good but i guess you can consider me a newbie so i would wait for another opinion but i don't see anything wrong.

I'll tell you what I tell everyone else, the i7 2600k is overkill unless you do something like encoding video, what you'll want is the i5 2500(k) if you're doing stuff like gaming/normal computing (which I assume you are). The i7 sometimes even gets less FPS in games compared to the i5 2500k, even though the i7 is $100 or so more.

And as the guy above said, definitely get a 7200 RPM hard drive over that one.

Unless you plan on overclocking you'll want to get the i5 2500, the i5 2500k has no limit on multiplier and stuff, which is the only difference on that site (On some sites the default clock speed between them is different)

I'm just thinking the i7 will be future proofed. Would this not be the case? Thanks for the advice though.

Caviar black is designed for high performance so it could be for you if you are gaming.

I'll settle with a 1TB then. I can always get more space when I need it. Thanks.

It isn't future proofed because the i7 2600k simply isn't faster, as I said it even gets lower FPS on some games.

They've both received great reviews and I'm wondering will either of them be fine for the parts I'm getting? I'd rather get the second one, if only for the looks if they both do the same job. If I get the second one will I need to buy more fans than what is included with it and what ones should I choose?
