ok , never tried this , you may be able to create a vbs script that could type "a"(could be anything) in the search box then hits enter , says every 30 secs.
or create a vbs script that presses f5 for you every 30 secs , that may stop the lag issue. you could change the amount of time from 30 to anything, i chose 30 because it would give the page time to load before refreshing , maybe stopping the lag.
