I just want to do whatever will benefit me the most so if you say your plan will benefit more than what I am doing now i'll stick to it!Smile

Believe it or not, most of computer science is math, and all programs can be represented and proved mathematically.

By the way, most university students spend at least their first year, generally their first two years, working solely on general education requirements, they don't start working towards their major (or even declare their major) until their sophomore year. You won't necessarily be behind by working on mathematics prior to computer science - if anything, you'll be at a massive advantage.

So if I learn all the mathmatics I listed in the thread I showed you and major in computer science in college....(I plan on going to M.I.T hopefully). How would I be Compared to a person who isn't as good in mathmatics, but knows numerous programming languages, would I still be considered ahead?

edit: SICP is available for free, online (and MIT offers free recorded "open courseware" lectures to accompany the book). As Sublimity alluded to, many of the books I recommended are available through piracy. Not that I encourage it (I own or have owned a hard copy of all the books I mentioned).

Wow sorry for the late reply.Ill be taking calculus next year of high school. From there I plan on going to a CC then transferring to a 4 year.I pretty good when it comes to math and science. All the books you recommended I have checked out and its going to take me some time to try and read all of those. But hopefully ill finish by the time Im done with high school. Thanks for you advice man.I was surprised when you said you were 16 and in university.Anyways thanks.
