(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); What i'm looking for are a few good books on hacking. I want to get good at many different types of hacking, so I hope I can get a few reccomendations.

What I'm Hopeing to get Good at
1. Internet hacking. I want to learn how to hack things on the internet...for example, facebook accounts, myspace accounts, etc

2. Hacking hardware, so I can modify it in any way that I choose...for example, the ps3, the ipod, etc

3. I also want to aquire a knowledge on how huge things such as other peoples computers or something like PSNs network could be hacked into.

4. Phone hacking...Not necessarily sure if I mentioned this type of hacking entirely above, but how would I be able to hack into someones phone to hear them or track them.

I dont intend to do anything bad and im sure no one would be concerned anyway, for if I did do anything illegal its my fault and im sure other people on this site have violated some law that involves hacking into someones computer or something of that matter. Thanks people of NGU, I hope I get a couple of book recommendations on hacking...Anyways I will be scaveraging the internet for anything I can find right now.

Internet Hacking is usually done through Keyloggers/RATs/Phishing.

1) Keyloggers record the victims keystrokes and then emails or uploads it to a host so he/she can read on through and see what was typed.
2) Hacking Hardware, what you are thinking of isn't Hardware hacking, it's software hacking. What you see for jailbreaks are actually modified versions of the software.
3) Information on the PSN network and such things like so won't be in a simple book, that would be more of located in the deeper portions of the internet and even there, there wouldn't be at on of information. If there was, wouldn't you think that they would have had it hacked again by now. The only reason why Anonymous was able to do what they did was because of the jailbreak and it allowing for them to see a security hole and exploit it.
4) Phone Hacking, lot of stuff on this but what I think you are wanting is something that is highly illegal and isn't a 1, 2, 3 step process.

For the most part, information for 1 and 2 is available by just searching the web, you can probably find more information out that way.
Instead of Hacking Hardware, try searching for Hacking Software.

Cain made a post talking about a book on hacking iOS. You must login or register to view this content. I haven't gotten around to reading it, but I looked over it and it looks worth while. I too am looking for similar books as to what you posted above. Would you mind PMing me if you find anything?

I said I didn't plan on using any of this for wrong doing. I'm studying a lot on programming and other subjects such as mathematics, computer engineering, and physics. I just wanted to know a lot on computer security and how stuff works. After all, if you don't know how hacking works, how will you know how to protect yourself against it? To be able to protect yourself against it, you need to think like a "hacker".

Maybe I should have used the term "security consultant" instead lol. Sorry for the misunderstanding....I wrote this awhile a go and I didn't even know it was still up. I've progressed a lot more from then, but in all honesty I didn't mean for this post to give anyone the opinion of me being a "scrub tryhard" as you call it. Anyways, thanks for posting your opinion, it made me laugh. Happy
