Hey I Just Installed Windows Xp With SP1 Allready Installed I Wanted To Install SP2 But Keep Getting This Error "atapi.sys is open or in use by another application" Now I Have Researched This Alot And Found That This Problem Can Be Caused By A Virtual Drive Like Daemon Tools Or Nero .ect I Do Not Have Any Of These Program's installed At All Ever Ive Tryed Everything I Tried Moved Atapi.sys And Its In Use All The Time So SP2 Cant Overwrite It With The New One

press and hold CTL+ALT+DEL to bring up task manager, see if you can find "atapi.sys" and end the process, and try install.

Have you tried restarting your computer, and then try installing?
