There is a thread in this sub forum that contains a Encryption Decryption Method for C# I updated it slightly so it uses better coding practices you could try converting it over to VB and have it work in your SQL database E.G. Encrypt the password and send it to the database and also pull the encrypted password from the database and decrypt it just for an extra layer of security.
Here is a pastebin link to the class with my updated code, if your having issues with trying to convert it over to VB let me know and I'll rewrite it for VB
