I have Kubuntu 8.04 installed on a 16GB compact flash card that I boot my laptop from. The main HDD has XP Pro.

magglass, i respect you for actually being able to properly know how to use kubuntu! i tried using it, had everything i needed and STILL i couldn't install things like firefox

Firefox comes preinstalled. <_< Unless you mean upgrading it which isn't quite as easy, but not too hard.

The only problem I've had is trying to get Kubuntu to work well with my ATI Mobility Radeon X1400. I can enable 3D acceleration, but then X Windows gets fxed up if I try to restart it. Or I can fix that problem but have no decent 3D acceleration. *sigh*
