Yeah, it's so easy to change the password in XP though by using a linux boot disk and modifying the password file. That's why I use a BIOS protection password, HDD protection password, AND I fully encrypt my hard drive. No way you're getting in without resetting the BIOS, somehow resetting the HDD or moving the platters to a new HDD, and cracking the encryption.

I'm not being funny mate, but this was dead and buried ages ago and it's pretty clear you've brought it back just to have your name written all the way down the side of the page? That's sad, there's no need for spamming. If you want to 'pwn the hacking and coding forum', then reply to things that require a reply with something useful.

And I'm sorry, but you HAVE to be an administrator in the first place for this to work, but just to prove it, I ran CMD as a non admin, did everything you said and you will get the following message:

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

C:\WINDOWS\system32>net user administrator *
Type a password for the user:
Retype the password to confirm:
System error 5 has occurred.

Access is denied.

All net user is for is a command line way of changing passwords for an administrator, but there's hardly any chance an Administrator would do this. A local machine is just a pawn in a domain and Active Directory is the King.
