Post: Keygen's | Everything About Them

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); About:

A Keygen (product key generator) is a computer program that generates a product licensing key, serial number, or some other registration information necessary to activate for use a software application.

In most countries, the use of keygens to activate software without purchasing a license is fraudulent.

Why Keygens Are Detected To Be Malicious:

Keygen software distributions can be detected to be infected with malware by anti-virus programs such as AVG and McAfee.

Some keygens are indeed infected, but many are not. Yet, antivirus frequently report infections by "generic" virus for which there is no description. Other antivirus cearly label the "virus" with a Keygen prefix.

Antivirus vendors label cracks for their own software as "malware" and also many different cracks and keygens for different programs are labelled to be "malware". This is done to combat piracy so that when people download working keygens and cracks alot of the time they see it's detected to be a virus or trojan (when it's not) and will then remove it from their computer immediately, which will prevent their program from being pirated.

Conclusion:

To conclude, most keygens are false positives and will not harm your computer in any way at all.

Hope this helps all you guys in the future when downloading keygens/cracks. Cool Man (aka Tustin)

You really make a good point! But im just wondering, since I got a new Kaspersky antivirus and i also downloaded a patch for it. Bit defender did not detect viruses in yet when I checked virustotal.com, many antiviruses label it as trojan/HackTool.
Here is the result: You must login or register to view this content.

Anyway, my question is this. I am going to buy an expensive laptop (i7) and im worried that the patch may indeed contain trojans. I was wondering if i install kaspersky, apply the patch, then it will just clean my new laptop from any new viruses including the ones on the patch itself? Like if the patch DOES contain viruses, will kaspersky be able to deal with it when installed? Long story short, how safe is it? Since its a new laptop, after installing Kaspersky, will my laptop have zero viruses? So sorry, ithis is a bit too long a question. Hope you guys understand!

Thanks!

Well It's most likely a false positive as a lot of anti virus' did not show It up as a virus like AVG and that..
But yeah anyway If you install the anti virus onto your new computer, intall the patch and then run a full scan It should clean It out Winky Winky
