But dont forget if you put like 6gb like i did it takes 6GB from your original Hard drive memory so if you have like 160gb On local disk and do this and put 6gb you get 154GB on local disk get it? so it takes space from your harddisk or what ever its called Happy

It's not real RAM, this is just like when you plug in an external HDD in a pc there is a "speedboost" option. All it's doing is storing some files and it's shit slow compared to real RAM and it can't be used for a lot of caching. Basically it makes little difference on your original performance.

Would the performance be noticeably better if I used about 50GB from my HDD? (1TB HDD FTW :420Smile

Also.. a page file =/= RAM.. It's virtual memory, not physical.. Learn kid.

Having a HUGE (10GB+) Pagefile isn't going to make any difference than having say a 4-6GB Pagefile.

Plus as others have said, the Pagefile is NOT equal to RAM, it's more of a Cache in which the OS and Software can store data for later use, ergo making things appear faster.

It's best to just let Windows decide the appropriate Pagefile size, especially if you've got 4GB+ of Physical RAM.

P.S You can even disable the Pagefile to improve system performance but I wouldn't recommend it as it does cause some Software to fail.

You can also theoritcally have a Pagefile of up to 16 Terabytes if you really want to have a shit-load of Virtual Memory and a Computer so fast it bends time itself (using this kids logic)! Awesome face
