Post: Potential Victim of a DDoS attack
10-29-2012, 03:08 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi there I posted a video on youtube concerning the new PS3 4.30 update and somehow manged to delete my blurred edit of the video thus revealing my IP address and MAC. I have since received two threats for whatever reason and I made the video private but have been told they still have my information. I plan on deleting the video but until then could someone please help me out? If you could also please give any tips on preventing the attack and possibly giving those wannabe hackers hell,
Thanks PuRe_XCaliber

I think this should be in the Questions section but I am not sure.

To answer your question you should probably not worry as the person who is threatening you is a 12 year old who finds it funny to scare people by acting like a "1337 H4CK3R" when in reality he can just about turn on his PC.

But if you are really worried I reccomend going under Hotspot Shield (Google it) for a bit maybe a day or two.

In answer to your second question. Don't try and give him hell as that would put you on the same level as the hacker.

your IP should be 192.168.xx.xx, they cant dnos your ip, neither can they could do anything with your mac address. No need to worry about those attacks, because they are nothing but 12 year olds thinking they are the hackers.

As said by Joelcra your PS3 only show your IPV4 address which is your Local Ip and can be only accessed by computer devices connected to your router.

No need too worry. + he can't do anything with tha mac address.

They can't do anything because your IP Address sometimes changes, so dont worry... but if you have some wierd side effects and your computer that never happened before, you should do something about. For example you can just change your router and the IP Address is going to be different.

check your modem/router logs to see if it shows the ip of the person attacking you. try changing your ip manually if your router allows you to, if not call your internet provider and ask for an ip change
