(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey,

I am a massive Liverpool FC fan and an aspiring sports journalist. I was advised to start a blog to, you know, get the hang of things in the sports journalism world. Everything is going great, the blog is up and running, I made a twitter account which has attracted a large fan base and I'm coping ok.

I'd like to step it up a little. Make a custom website that's easy to navigate, and has the opportunity to expand into something bigger, that will attract many fans and build up my followers.

I was wondering how much it would cost (if any of you can do this) to make a website, basically, identical to this one:

You must login or register to view this content.

I have many changes that will be made to it in mind, and it will all be discussed once I can find someone to do so.

I'm trying to create competition for sites such as

You must login or register to view this content.
You must login or register to view this content.

obviously I only report on one particular club, but, in the long run I want a fan base like the 2 sites above.

Name your price,

thanks!!

Wow! You've been busy. 13 thousand followers? I can see your site will at least get 5,000 hits a day. An introduction of monetisation would be advisable once you start receiving traffic in the 10's of thousands!

Wordpress doesn't support a forum system there could be a plugin but there could be alot of complication involved I would suggest a forum engine such as vbulletin. A chat system is vital for a football based website as its much more flexible than forum posts.

One suggestion, always use high quality images for your posts. Remember the moment you installed the theme was a challenge to all the current blogs out there following the same niche. Top notch quality means that a visitor is likely to come back.

Another thing the images on your league table is broken fixing them is obviously advisable.

I'm sorting out monetization later Smile and also, I think I'm going to create a forum on the kopitecrew.com/forum, I'll then link it on the homepage, should be cool Smile

If the forum is successful then I'll add a shout box Smile

And yeah I'll work on all the little problems, and I'll make sure it's at it's best,

Thanks for your help man !

You say you have a designer so why the need to post? $200 is quite cheap!

Most "Free CSS Menus" are for non-commercial use. Just saying.

To Op, you can use BlogSpot or Tumblr to develop a fan base. If it get's large enough then you can direct them over to a paid website.

Best not to spend 500 bucks on a site that will flop when you can use stuff for free. Also, BlogSpot and Tumblr are Adsense capable so you can earn a little cash on the side to go towards your fan-site.
