Tip, your hard drive is just a bunch of 1's and 0's. When you "delete" an item from your computer, all you are doing is removing the directory link from your computer to that space on the hard drive.
Your Hard Drive can place thing randomly on it, this means as you add an remove crap on your computer, the "deleted" information only gets written over by new binary, not all of it but some of it.
If you use a drive wiper where it makes several passes, it will destroy the original data there.
Since OP didn't touch his computer, nothing really lost.
