Things I've tried:
- Double clicked the shortcut.
- Opened file location and double clicked the wmp.exe.
- Did both of the above as "administrator".
I get no response. After I do that I get no error message or anything, just stays as is. I need help, please help me.

dont use wmp, it's terrible. Use VLC media player instead.

Just go to the download page from Microsoft. It has the download there.
