(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); are there any gurus out there that can help me. i got a virus like a month ago and still no luck. i cant update windows or mcafee. i cant even open mcafee so i downloaded avast and it finds the virus, deletes it and it comes back like and hour later. it hijacks both my internet browsers so i cant get on it. please help!

I would just boot in safe mode then scan with virus software gets rid of it every time on my puter doing it that way, I have had every kind of virus on mine, then if that doesn't work just reformat HD

i don't want to reformat and safe mode is not doing any better then regular!

i got avg and it scanned for updates and it says "update failed, invalid control ctf file". whats that? and what is bonjour? it somehow got on my pc and im wandering if i need that or do i need to delete it?

Next run the program, and make sure it opens up a log.

The site gives back a list of could-be malicious software. Check for anything you don't know. Then check again. Finally check another time. If you finished checking, and you still see programs/files you don't know. You can delete them. If you aren't sure, ask a pc expert first. After you've deleted the file(s), your virus should be removed.

Also, for AVG Free, click cancel on the update. Then click right on the icon in your taskbar, and open the UI (user interface). Start a scan from there
