i recommend not downloading anything modified just search on google thats way easier

Disk Cleanup
Virus Scan
MsConfig > Disable all Non Microsoft services & disable all startup programs
Add some virtual memory through your paging file etc etc

Get yourself a copy off Auslogics BoostSpeed, defrag hdd & registry.. go into task manager & then google all the .exe files to see if they can be stopped.

Probably got lots of programmes that auto run that dont need to be active.

Download & run cc cleaner to

You throw it away and buy a better computer. Or upgrade the entire computer hardware and put on win 7 or 8
